How we choose our picks

We do not claim to flight-test every drone ourselves. Instead, our editorial process is research-driven and transparent:

• Aggregate independent testing. We read and compare findings from established, independent reviewers who conduct controlled tests (flight time, video quality, range, stability, wind resistance).
• Verify specifications. We cross-check sensor size, max flight time, transmission range, obstacle avoidance, and weight against manufacturer documentation and FCC filings.
• Weight by real use-cases. A great cinematic drone is not the best beginner drone. We match each pick to a specific buyer profile (beginners, photography, racing, long-range, professional).
• Note the trade-offs. Every recommendation lists genuine cons, not just praise.

How we stay independent
